Europe is a continent offering cities with significant architectural buildings and glorious landscapes. The nicest cities to travel to is dependant on the interest of every traveller; some might prefer to pick up the cities with the most famed important buildings in Europe and other people will discover the best cities for their beaches or mountains.
Discovering the colourful culture and gorgeous aspects of whole Europe is unachievable and likely if you have traveled to some cities in different regions of Europe; you will plan as soon as possible a next visit to one of these favourite cities in Europe you never seen before.
Here are some hints which I may recommend to visit and things to do:
Sail the Greek Islands
Kick back, relax and go island hopping this year. Spend 10 glorious days working on your tan while exploring Athens, Paros, Mykonons Island and Santorini.
Take a Gondala ride through Venice
The whole city of Venice was really a maze I swear! The alleys, bridges and waterways were interlinked all over the place. Elegant Venetian buildings and palaces peer over the historical maze of narrow streets and labyrinth of canals that contrive to make this a unique city.
Go wine tasting in Tuscany
We went on a short hike into the Tuscany countryside and had a small picnic and read our books amid leafy vineyards and golden hillsides. Tuscany is known for its landscapes and its artistic legacy. Six Tuscan localities have been UNESCO protected sites.
Take a Turkish bath
Linking Europe continent and the Middle East, suspended between the new and the long established, Turkey retains a disconcerted balance of both east and west, representing a cultural mix with many discrepancies and contradictions.
Take the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg
The Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg was absolutely fantastic..we were taken to many of the 'Do Re Mi' scenes as well as the mountain and lake scenes from the opening
Ski The Alps
When we finally reached the top after the 2hour train ride, we headed straight for the outside and were greeted by the most captivating view ever in Switzerland
Drink vodka in Russia
Spent my birthday with a litre of vodka in Moscow looking out the window crossing the European russia and jumping out at stops buying bits and bobs.. Although vodka is traditionally drunk neat in the Eastern European and Nordic countries of the "Vodka Belt", its popularity elsewhere owes much to its usefulness in cocktails and other mixed drinks, such as the bloody mary, the screwdriver, the white russian, the vodka tonic, and vodka martini.
Explore Prague's old town
Spend 3 nights exploring Prague's old town staying at Hotel Amadeus. Stroll across Prague's 14th century stone bridge up to Prague Castle & enjoy the fairytale views of the best city of Czech Republic.
Knock back a stein at Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Germany during late September (and running to early October). It is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair, with some six million people attending every year, and is an enjoyable event with an important part of Bavarian culture. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event.
See the Moulin Rouge
J'adore Paris! A seriously stunning city with the WOW factor; so rich in culture and history and surprisingly easy to navigate. It is impossible not to fall in love with Paris. The citys people are stylish and flirtatious, its architecture seductive, its restaurants and nightlife devoted to the pursuit of pleasure and its streets are scattered with dreams.
Learn the lingo from a local in Italy
Again Italy... After Dan's short description of the place, we then made our way up the long flight of steps to the top! The view is pretty nice from up there. Best food: Pizza or course, Don't miss: Sistine Chapel
Go clubbing in Ibiza
This Spanish Island Ibiza is notorious for its debauchery. Home to a number of foam parties and bars, including Privilege, the largest club in the world.Ibiza, an island which is one in a thousand! It is undoubtedly popular within the international club life scene. Every one who loves nightlife clubbing should have been at least once on this magical island.
Spend New Year at Hogmanay in Edinburgh
One of the nicest cities I have ever visited probably BUT..there is a but..;) The weather! It was freezing cold..Presenting a rather Gothic cityscape as it spreads out below its historical Castle, reaching out to the port of Leith, Edinburgh is far from dour. Scotland have crafted a capital that is crammed with culture, filled with fun and festivity, veneered with sophistication but reeking of history and mystery.
Eat goulash in Eastern Europe
All I knew was that it was a small town in southern Czech. It ended up being a gorgeous little medieval town, with a great castle and cobble stoned streets. Goulash is a dish, originally from Hungary, a stew or a soup, usually made of beef, red onions, vegetables, spices and ground paprika powder.
Get dirty in Glastonbury
Europe's Quirkiest music festival - with over 30 stages bouncing with energy set against the backdrop of a medieval castle in Novi Sad, Montenegro... Best place to stay : Downtown Novi Sad Hotel
See the Berlin Wall
The tour was fantastic! To actually see the berlin wall and to hear about this divide between east and west berlin was truly amazing. The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer) was a physical barrier completely encircling West Berlin, separating it from the German Democratic Republic (GDR) (East Germany), including East Berlin. The longer inner German border demarcated the border between East and West Germany. Both borders came to symbolize the Iron Curtain between Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc.
Learn to Flamenco in Spain
The actual Flamenco performance was incredible. The dancing was something else, I'd have to say it was just about the highlight of my trip to Spain. Flamenco embodies a complex musical and cultural tradition. Although considered part of the culture of Spain, flamenco actually originates from one of Spain's autonomous regions: Andalusia : Malaga, Seville, Granada
Walk the Cinque Terre in Italy
Mamma Mia, Italiano! Travel from Florence to Rome in 8 days visiting 6 cities along the way - Rome, Sorrento, Assisi, Lucca, Cinque Terre & Venice. The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, man has carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible "modern" development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars can not reach it from the outside. It is a very popular tourist destination.
Run with the bulls in Pamplona
Will you or won't you? Dare to run with the bulls or just soak up the adrenalin & atmosphere of this unique festival! Whatever you decide, this festival will be one you'll always remember! Recommended accommodation in Pamplona : Hotel La Buhardilla
Kiss the Blarney Stone, Ireland
Journey for 9 days from Northern Ireland to London, England. Don't forget to kiss the famous Blarney Stone in hope of gaining more eloquent speech. The Blarney Stone is a block of bluestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle, Blarney about 5 miles (8 km) from Cork, Ireland. According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery). The stone was set into a tower of the castle in 1446. The castle is a popular tourist site in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world to kiss the Stone and tour the castle and its gardens.
Eat Belgian waffles in Bruges
There are waffle men everywhere selling waffles for £1.50 which is an absolute bargain so we stocked up on those as well. Bruges, Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North". Recommended Hostel : Art Hostel
Socialise with the rich & famous in Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo, which lies in the French Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea in Monaco in the corner of France and Italy is known internationally as a playground for the rich and famous. It is widely known for its casinos, gambling, glamour, luxurious yachts and for sightings of wealthy businessmen and famous people. The permanent population is about 3,000. Monte Carlo quarter includes not only Monte Carlo proper where the famous Le Grand Casino is located. It also includes the neighborhoods of Saint-Michel, Saint-Roman/Tenao, and the beach community of Larvotto. It borders the French town of Beausoleil.
Take a Galipoli Tour to Anzac Cove
Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, and is commemorated by both countries on 25 April every year to honour members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. It now more broadly commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for the country.
Throw tomatoes at La Tomatina
A truck rounded the corner dropping tomatoes like red drops of gold, and the madness began. The road ran in a river of red.. La Tomatina is a food fight festival held on the last Wednesday of August each year in the town of Bunol in the Valencia region of Spain. Tens of thousands of participants come from all over the world to fight in a brutal battle where more than one hundred metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets.
Get Lost in Ottoman Labyrinths
Kapali Carsi in Istanbul (Grand Bazaar) has been a shopper's Mecca since just after the mid-15th century, when the smallish warehouse was turned into a teeming bazaar by a constant stream of traders, selling everything from carpets to cummin. These days it's the most fantastic, monstrous, labyrinthine and totally manic shopping bazaar you could hope to experience.
How to Travel Cheap in Europe?
A Few Words About European Hostels
There are many fascinating hostels in Europe, but also many that you should avoid. If you are lucky to avoid hustlers waiting for you in train stations, offering cheap but probably low standards accommodation, you will end up paying high prices for crowded rooms with noise and bad smells. To avoid unpleasant hostel memories, my recommendation would be book your hostel online.
